Friesenkate Krätschmer Holiday Home with Private Terrace and Wi-Fi
Pellworm, NordseeküsteThe Friesenkate (80 m²) accommodates 3 guests and is a traditional Uthland Frisian house, built in an L-shape with the classic interior layout of its era. The living spaces are arranged on two levels. A central hallway separates the former servant’s quarters and utility rooms, as well as the old stable, from the main living area. Today, the side rooms feature two modern bathrooms and a laundry room. Ceiling beams create alcoves, known as "Fächer" in historic Frisian homes, measuring 2.40 m wide. You can stand comfortably in these areas, while the height under the beams is sometimes only 1.80 m. The interior doors are original, fitted with historic hardware, and reflect the lower average height of people in the 19th century. The holiday home is located in the sparsely populated southwest of Pellworm, surrounded by unspoiled nature. Friesenkate stands alone on a raised mound dating from the 17th century. Enjoy panoramic views stretching to the lighthouse—built in the style of the beacons at Hörnum and Westerhever—across open marshland, scattered farms, and the black-and-white cows of the neighboring farm. The property is framed by shrubbery, offering privacy while still providing open views in every direction. The ever-changing interplay of sun, clouds, light, and shadow makes the landscape feel like a living painting. Thanks to its secluded location and lack of artificial light, you can marvel at the starry sky here. The 2,000 m² plot with mature trees invites you to gaze at the Milky Way after dark. A wooden bench on the west side of the house is perfect for hours of relaxation while taking in the scenery.
